The course will be held in Cape Town/Kruger Safari

The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, this national park of nearly 2 million hectares is home to an impressive number of species. We will first journey to Cape Town to complete the main AWLS® course requirements. Cape Town is southern Africa's most beautiful, most romantic and most visited city. Indeed, few urban centers anywhere can match its setting along the mountainous Cape Peninsula spine, which slides into the Atlantic Ocean. Once we have completed the basic course requirements we will fly to Kruger National Park for our safari journey.

Introductory Ultrasound for Emergency Medicine

The course is held in Melbourne, Victoria

Introductory Ultrasound for Emergency Medicine (IUEM) courses are delivered with a focus on the acquisition of practical skills for use in an emergency environment.

Designed by doctors for doctors, these accredited courses are aimed at candidates at all levels that have little or no prior ultrasound experience. Hands on time is the focus with a 1:3/2:3 ratio of time dedicated to theory/practical.

The five day course is overseen by Dr. Adam Bystrzycki, and Dr. Jack Spencer consultant emergency physicians.
Course objectives

At the conclusion of this course you will be able to:

Explore the physical principles and artifacts of ultrasound to attain basic practical proficiency in image optimisation

Demonstrate basic practical proficiency in performing and interpreting the following ultrasound examinations:
eFAST
AAA
Lung
Vascular access (through experience gained on ultrasound phantoms)
Basic echo in life support

Discuss the clinical role, practical applications and limitations of focused ultrasound assessment of the following:
eFAST
AAA
Lung
Vascular access (through experience gained on ultrasound phantoms)
Basic echo in life support

Explain the practical application of the RUSH protocol and the HI-MAP imaging sequence in the assessment of the critically ill patient in shock

Document and present complete and accurate sonographic findings for recording in the patient’s record to facilitate appropriate diagnosis and clinical management

ACME a three day course using simulation, small group discussions, mini-scenarios and interactive workshops to explore the complex specialty of emergency medicine. Advanced Life Support Level 2

The ALS course is an intensive 2-day course providing a standardised approach to resuscitation in adults. It has been designed for individuals from critical care areas who would be expected to provide advanced life support in an in-hospital or pre-hospital situation. Critical Care Imaging Interpretation


30th June - 3rd July 2014

The Course will be held at Pullman Resort, Bali

The course covers imaging of the head, chest and abdomen/pelvis in 5 modules. Each module is composed of a didactic lecture followed by an interactive session where delegates review quizzes and PACS cases with X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT and MRI to consolidate fundamental principles of imaging interpretation. All lectures are presented by radiologists, specialists in the field of medical imaging.
